If you invest in Indianapolis, you may have heard the term “SoBro” being tossed around.
So what exactly do people mean by “SoBro?”
Well, SoBro is a neighborhood located south of Broad Ripple, which is where is gets its name “SoBro”, inspired by the hip SoHo neighborhood in New York City.
NYC’s SoHo Neighborhood
However, it’s not just the NYC neighborhood name that inspired SoBro, but also the gradual influx of cool and quirky restaurants, nightclubs, and specialty shops that’s transformed it into a bustling cultural hotspot.
Along College Ave, Pennsylvania St, and other roads that pass through SoBro, you will find beautiful homes and shops with such established locales as The Jazz Kitchen and Yats to newcomers like Open Society Public House and Kimbal Musk’s brand new Next Door American Eatery, on the budding intersection of 46th and College.
One of our favorite places in the area is Fat Dan’s Deli. This Chicago-style pub is famous for its incredible Chicago-style burgers, dogs, and large portion sizes, as well as its great local beer selection and sports bar. Oh, and did we mention Chicago? ‘Cause yea, this place is literally a home away from home for any Chicago natives. Cubs, Sox, Bears, and Blackhawks games are given top priority on the TV’s and related sports paraphrenalia abound. And the place smells incredible too.
